Weekend on the Border

Last weekend’s Big Event was fantastic and this weekend’s trip to Eagle Past was great fun.

It was a six hour trip there and an other six hours back. Rocio came in to town on Thursday to go to our Spanish class’ last meeting at Mi Cocina. It too was great fun to introduce Rocio and Zoila to my instructor and have some Tres Leches cake to celebrate my birthday. So good. Speaking of Toni, my Spanish instructor, the lucky dog is in Chile and Argentina this week observing the study abroad program there. Great trip I am sure, I wish I was there.

Anyhoo, Eagle Pass was fabulous. We planted flowers and shrubbery Saturday morning, Anabel’s mother took a few of us to Piedras Negras for a shopping trip at Soriana, Carol, a bilingual sophomore in AFC, was able to go, we ate mole and lots of breakfast tacos with chile, met so many interesting and warm people, and so much more. The church is alive and amazing. I can’t wait to possibly return next year.
