Great Things
Well after three days of the run-around with the American Airlines personnel in Guatemala City, I received my last backpack. Some other passenger had taken it and returned it. Thank Goodness.
I’ve done so much so far. Guatemala is much more than what I had expected, which was nothing. I really didn’t do much researching prior to departure. I think the most amazing thing I’ve done is walk twenty minutes in the dark this morning to a tourist agency to go on a trip to Volcan Pacaya, “the most active volcano in Guatemala.” It’s quite the experience to stand a few metres from a lava flow.
Oh and language classes are going well. HA.
Cheers.

So Glad to hear that your backpack was returned to you. What was the hassle with AA? Was anything missing? If so, you need to follow up on it and make it a priority especially if we need to file a claim. Glad that you are having a wonderful time, enjoying all G has to offered. Spoke to Mrs Branch yesterday at church and she said her grand niece was actually flying home this past week-end. Sorry you missed her. She must have been on a two week language school. Did you go to church yesterday? If so, how was it? How are things going with your host family? M and K saw A yesterday, and announced their engagement to him. He is emmersed with his studies. Take care and we love and miss you greatly!!!!

Mom and Dad

Hey Garrett–
glad to hear that things are going good in antigua. let us know if you have questions about antigua or santiago. we found a Christian coffee shop in antigua on the same street as the Merced Cathedral, toward the volcano (we think its on 6th street). its called “higher grounds” and its a great place to study, use your wireless computer and meet people. they have a weekly Bible study too. we spent lots of time there
have a great time learning more spanish & we’ll see you soon!!
love,
John and Amanda

Hey Garrett
It sounds like you’re having fun with all your travels. I’m still in Washington for the summer job searching right now. I just transferred to Central Washington University and going for my bachelors in journalism. Right now my only travel plans include going to Tacoma because my friends there ( they’re married) are going to Germany on the 31st and it’ll be my last time to see them before then. Also, I’ll in San Antonio for Christmas since I’m not spending the summer there like I have been.
I love the weather here and the people are nice. Ofcourse I have much fun. If I could I’d take all my friends and family here lol. Anyway, how long do you plan to be there?
Anyway send me another email sometime and I promise to write more often. *hugs*
Take care
Donna

Just chill and use that Spanish, as i know you were doing even back here in the States. i said hey to Fernando and Ephraim on Sunday and saw Ephraim at Barnes and Noble today. Stay chill with the heat of the summer…as winter awaits in Santiago. Peace
