Dead Dog

It was an eventful week. Christian’s and Jenny’s wedding reception in San Antonio was fabulous. I could barely sit for five minutes. I much rather see old friends and family at a wedding reception than a funeral.

On the way back I had my first highway casualty. A coyote walked in to the rode. It passed a truck that was in the right lane, I in the left, and it was unavoidable. Very sad and alarming. Oh well, my car survived with a scuff.

I was officially reassigned to Awareness director for the Environmental Issues Committee of the Student Government Association of Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University this past week. I am no longer co-director of recycling. It is now a singular position with my friend Bobby at the helm. Good luck to both of us.

This past weekend marked my third annual Sulphur Springs weekend trip. It was wonderful, because I got to meet Mikey. Brett introduced himself to Mikey on Saturday morning, but was quickly told, “He doesn’t talk.” I took not thought of it. I’ve heard of plenty of kids, well really only in movies, who do not talk. It was not until Mikey was in my small group that I was asked, “Do you know sign language?” Oh, he’s deaf. I’ve always heard deaf people described as being deaf, not as those who do not talk. Anyways, Mikey took some time to warm up to me and my American Sign Language, he’s an Exact English Sign guy. I had a great time with him. The best part was meeting his grandmother, who raised him, and hearing that he came home so excited to have met an other signer.

On the ride back to College Station, I finally, got a group of people to play the Name Game that Jennifer, Jeff, Brad, Kimie, and a whole bunch of SMU people I don’t know played on New Year’s. It’s rather simple. One chooses a well known name (i.e. I was Don Quiote on New Year’s), write it on a bit of paper, game master collects bits, reads names, and people go in round asking others if they are this or that person. I was game master on the bus, but still had a jolly good time doing it.

Great fun, great fun.

Another Day

Only one class today. It looks like a good one, Retail Buying. I only wanted in, because of the outstanding grade ratios, I believe it’s about 70% A’s and 30% B’s, but now after attending it seems that the course will enrich my current job with Lone Star and the instructor plans to bring in 6-8 execs and industry individuals.

An issue I foresee struggling with is this class adds on the fourth semester project that must be done. Hooray.

Tonight I had my first viewing of Lost as I replace Jennifer as the sixth viewer at Jeff’s and Lauren’s. It looks swell, but I need to catch up. This reminds, good bye Jennifer. Happy times to you in Chiang Mai. I am so glad you enjoy my Friendship CD.

School Begins, Break Ends

It was a good and eventful winter break. Fare well Mary in the Dominican. Saw many good friends. Christian and Jenny wedded. Christmas. A few days spent in Arkansas. Good conversation with Dad on ride down to Dallas. Dallas for the New Year, not Mexico. Fun with friends in Metroplex. Down to Austin with Jennifer, with a Czech Stop on the way. A day trip to Corpus to hang with the Cooper household. Fetched Robert in Round Rock. Chacho’s, bowling, and a 5:30A drive to SAT airport. Fare well Robert in DC. A fantastic week at Central Texas Children’s Home. Home for two days, hang with Rocio and familia.

I have five marketing courses, four on Tu/Th and one on M/W.

Cheers to a good semester.
